General Syed Ali Zamin Scholarship
General Syed Ali Zamin was a career officer in the Pakistan army during World War II, where he fought many battles with courage and success, rising to the rank of lieutenant general. After his military service he was appointed as Pakistan’s ambassador to four countries. Upon his retirement he moved to Baton Rouge and began yet another career with LSU Libraries, where he worked for fourteen years. While at LSU Libraries, General Zamin was known for his commitment as a custodian of the collection and for his superior customer service orientation. This scholarship seeks to recognize a student worker who demonstrates the same work ethic that made General Zamin so outstanding.
This award is for full-time undergraduate students who are student workers of the LSU Libraries. Students must be currently employed and employed in the upcoming academic year to receive funding.
