Dr. Robert M. Hammatt Award for Proficiency in Food Animal Medicine
The Dr. Robert M. Hammatt Award for Proficiency in Food Animal Medicine recognizes academic excellence and clinical proficiency in food animal medicine by students in the veterinary medicine curriculum at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. The award will honor the high standards of service to the profession, to the community, and to veterinary education in Louisiana set by Dr. Hammatt during his lifetime.
The recipient of this scholarship must be a full-time student at LSU, enrolled in the second or third year of the professional program at the School of Veterinary Medicine. The recipient must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the professional program. The recipient must have demonstrated proficiency in the clinical aspects of food animal medicine, and should, ideally, be interested in pursuing a career or post-graduate training in food animal production. Veterinary contributions to the profession and to the community will also be considered.
