John W. Melton Scholarship

The John Walker Melton Scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student at LSU who is enrolled in the College of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness.The _ is awarded to a high school graduate with at least a 2.5 high school GPA who is a resident of Union Parish. The recipient will be selected based on the following criteria: financial need, leadership qualities, participation in one or more competitive sports, character, citizenship, and potential to make a positive contribution to their community.

The principals of high schools with eligible students are encouraged to submit recommendations to the dean.
